Description: Neuronal and Glial Mechanisms of Cognitive Dysfunction in Alzheimer’s Disease Alzheimer’s disease poses major biomedical and socio-economic problems. It also raises fascinating fundamental questions that touch on diverse aspects of neuroscience. In this lecture, Lennart Mucke will describe molecular and cellular processes that may contribute to cognitive and neural network dysfunctions in Alzheimer’s disease. He will also discuss how some of the latest mechanistic insights might be translated into better treatments for this and related conditions through the development of novel therapeutics or the repurposing of drugs used for other disorders.
